1940 Ford 01C Pickup Hot Rod. One of the most recognized hot rods is certainly a ’40 ford, and this one is super cool.  1940 body wearing ’41 hood trim. Fantastic looks with Satin red paint on the body, glossy black fenders and just the right amount of pinstriping! The grill appears to be original and still in nice condition. The bumpers and other trim have either been re-chromed or are aftermarket. The inside of the box is well finished including the timber boards stained in a cherry finish, and the white walls, gloss black steel wheels with baby moons and art-deco beauty rings tie in the old school with other modern custom touches on the truck very well. The running boards are also bed-lined meaning you can actually step on them. Under the truck, the ’40 frame remains, but with a 4-link set up out back, and Mustang II up front. This truck was built to look good, while also being a usable, comfortable cruiser. Proving that point is the 4.3-liter GM V6 under the hood with stock fuel injection (throttle body) along with A/C! It still sounds rather good thanks to headers and dual exhaust and interestingly enough, has an engine note similar to the flathead V8 that would have come with the truck stock. This V6 has even been painted green to pay tribute to the original engine. Behind that is a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay is neat and tidy and the truck runs and drives well with power brakes and power steering. The interior is a nice place to spend some time! The bench seat has been custom contoured to maximize cabin space to allow taller drivers the maximum amount of room, yet the seat is still very comfortable. The ribbed seat pattern continues onto the door cards as well. Power windows have been added as well as seatbelts. A tilt column is in place, but still sports the factory steering wheel, and a Lokar shifter and hand brake give the look of a manual. The dash features added A/C vents and the cluster has all new autometer black face gauges with just the right style for the era of the truck. Since completion there’s just 3200 miles on the odometer. A new Kenwood Bluetooth stereo has been installed along with an aftermarket set of climate controls on a panel that hang below the dashboard. Custom low-pile carpets with matching floor mats and kick panels complete the interior well, along with a finished headliner. The truck has proven miles and is a pleasure to drive. Clearly a lot of attention to detail went into the build. The perfect summer cruiser just the way it is or change out wheels/tires/stance and make it your own!
