1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 4-dr Hardtop Sport Sedan. Repainted in it’s factory two tone Harbour blue but paired up with Ivory white as the top color (factory top color would have been Nassau Blue). This one is very, very nice with sensational chrome and bright trim. The optional front fender birds and jet styled hood ornament are quintessential 50’s! Paint is all recent and very nice, however there is some slight orange peel in places, and a wet sand and polish could really bring out the shine. One of those cars that hides the fact it’s a 4-dr very well. The shape of the door, the lack of a b-pillar and stainless trim and paint do a good job of camouflaging two extra doors. It’s just the door handles that give it away! White wall radial tires are new, and the wheels and covers are just about perfect. Optional dual exhaust with stamped Bel Air crests on chrome tips poke out below the rear bumper and the driver’s rear taillight opens to reveal the hidden gas filler! The taillights also feature reverse lamps, a special order on the car. Optional chrome front fender shields body side sill moldings and door handle shields really dress this one up. There’s also the optional passenger side body mount mirror. Styling is second to none. The interior on this one is also all brand new from top to bottom. New headliner, door panels, seat upholstery and carpets. Gauges are factory correct, but also new. This one features the radio speaker in front of the passenger set into the dashboard along with an optional clock as well as the upgraded custom Deluxe pushbutton factory radio. The heater is also the deluxe heater and defroster, and the optional accelerator pedal cover has been installed.  Aftermarket Autometer gauges with chrome housing hang from the bottom of the repainted dashboard indicating oil pressure, voltage and water temperature. Everything is in nice working order on this one. The trunk is also fully restored and carpeted and features the spare tire, jack and tire iron.  Shop manuals, assembly manuals, literature and original sales brochures and optional equipment brochures come with the car. Lots of neat stuff! Under the hood are some very pleasant surprises. The 1962 date code 283 V8 has been all rebuilt and upgraded with a new 600 CFM Holley street avenger carb with electric choke, along with MSD billet distributor and blaster coil. A set of chrome valve covers dress it up and the generator upgraded to an alternator. This engine is now paired up with a TH200-4R four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive making it the perfect highway cruiser with long legs. The rear axle is 3.36 and is other wise stock along with the suspension. Brakes have also been upgraded with front disc brakes and a new dual circuit power system with adjustable proportioning valve. Steering also upgraded to roller bearing and idler arm set up. Translation – it brakes and steers like a modern car, rather than one from the 50’s. A few touches with the powertrain have the car road trip ready and able to better cope with the demands of driving in today’s traffic, while still maintaining the sounds and sensations of a vintage Chevy. An Iconic look, strong driver and rare and unique body style loaded to the hilt with optional extras! The odometer reads 89,000 miles and although that may be correct for the body/frame, with an engine swap and rebuild, true milage on the powertrain is unknown.
