Description

1956 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. This is one of the most incredible cars we've had in the showroom. The attention to detail during the restoration in 2003 is second to none. The car left the Dearborn Factory May 3, 1956, headed to the Los Angeles Sales area wearing Navajo Gray and a black top with a white and black interior. It now sports Peacock Blue with a white porthole hardtop, black soft-top and a blue and white interior. One of the previous owners wanted the original paint touched up, and that work snowballed into a full-on restoration with the color change. During the restoration, no stone was left unturned. The original 225 horsepower 312 Y-block V8 4-bbl was rebuilt with the only changes from factory being a new camshaft and swapping the original generator for an alternator. It was also very well equipped from factory with options like power steering, power brakes, power windows, 4-way power bench seat and the 3-speed Fordomatic transmission. The car is also equipped with beautiful Kelsey Hayes style true wire wheels including the continental kit spare tire. With the exception of the clock, all gauges are working, even the tachometer. The car displays 3700 miles, and it's believed that's the milage since restoration in 2003.  Right now, there's an aftermarket radio/cassette in place of the original radio. We hope to replace that non-working radio with a modern Bluetooth unit that fits the dials and existing cut out. Everything on the car is factory fresh when it was restored, and it's seen very few miles since then. The current owner has only driven it a couple of times a year (in town) for the odd car show. You can see from the pictures of the car just how nice it is top and bottom, and just how far the restoration went. This T-bird is easily nicer than the day it rolled off the factory line! Adjustable air-ride shocks have been installed to keep the car level at all times, and a brand-new sway bar and hardware kit is just waiting to be installed. Plenty of trophies, display boards and writeups on the car also come with it. With the color and styling this is one of the quintessential 50's cars. This amazing Thunderbird in the kind of condition that would put it as a top contender at any car show or competition. Don’t miss out, this won’t last long here.
