1968 Ford Mustang Convertible. 289 2-bbl V8 and a 3-speed Automatic. Completely rotisserie restored from the ground up with all new sheet metal making up most of the floors, frame rails, trunk, rear quarters, rear inner and outer fenders, front inner and outer fenders... almost everything really. Hundreds of pictures documenting the restoration come with the car. After being a pale yellow, the car was also restored back to its original blue color. Brand new black convertible top 2 years ago done right here at Rod’s Hotrods. Endless list of new parts when all the work was completed. Most recently a new fuel tank has gone in, the carb was rebuilt, and did final fitment on fender, bumper and convertible top alignment. She’s now ready to go, although we still want a set of raised white letter tires on all 4 corners to complete the look. This car features a GT hood and GT wheel caps, but those have just been added for looks. Everything on the car is in working order including the power top. It’s a pretty basic mustang other wise, with a working heater, AM radio, dual exhaust and automatic transmission. The condition is very good, however. The interior door panels, dash, convertible boot and seats could easily be factory original, but carpets, dash pad, weather stripping and door seals are all new. The steering wheel could use replacement or restoration and if we’re being picky some of the silver trim on the dash could use touching up.  Chrome on the exterior is fantastic, along with stainless steel trim. Paint is excellent and the car looks great even up close. A few extra parts come with the car and they’re in the trunk, which is also finished well – it should, it’s basically all brand new. Under the hood the stock (and likely numbers matching) 289 was pulled out during restoration, but ran so well, it was not rebuilt. It was simply repainted, and reinstalled. It’s also VERY easy to drive thanks to power steering. No power brakes, but it’s not needed on a car this small and light. This one has 4-wheel drums. A chrome air cleaner assembly is about the extent of the modifications under the hood, it’s very original. The previous owner of the car owned it for decades. She bought it and it was a well-loved car before restoration. Over the last 5-10 years the car was completed, but she’s relocated to Australia and the car has stayed here in Canada. After the tune up work was completed in our shop, it starts with one touch of a key and just purrs! Easy, fun, sunshine cruiser perfect for any cars and coffee, or ice cream on a hot day with the top down!! Odometer reads 7400 miles, but with only 5 digits and a restoration under its belt, true milage is unconfirmed, although likely 107,400 miles.
