2007 Lamborghini Spyder. The Super-Car has come to Rod’s Hotrods! A dream car with a screaming 5.0-liter V-10 making 520 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque with a 0-60 mph time of 4.0 seconds a top speed of 314 kph and an 8000 rpm redline! That V-10 is paired up with a 6-speed E-gear automated manual transmission with paddle shifters and AWD, meaning this car launches hard and has a driving experience like no other! This car has aftermarket exhaust which amplifies the incredible screaming Italian tenor exhaust note and has added approximately another 40 hp to the stock numbers.  Cornering speeds come down to the driver’s nerve and bravery rather than the limits of the car – It can take just about any corner as fast as you dare. 1 of just 1,015 built across the entire world, this example was sold new in Toronto and eventually made its way to Vancouver before coming to Saskatchewan. Since 2007, its only accumulated 28,000 easy kms. The Lambo is in spectacular condition with no chips on the paint, and a flawless interior. Only the wheels show some minor scuffs and scrapes, but a new set of wheels may just be on the way. There is one single insurance claim on the car for vandalism, but the paint is unaltered from factory, so the damage may have been superficial – other wise it has a clean title.  The tri-coat diamond white exterior paint glistens in the sun, and the car looks just as good with the convertible top down as it does up, the cloth top is still in excellent condition. There’s an active aero rear spoiler that raises during high speeds, and the front suspension has controls to lift the front of the car to clear driveway approaches and steep ramps without scratching the nose. The entire interior is covered with leather – seats, console, dashboard – everything. It features dual power heated seats, dual zone climate control, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, tilt and telescopic Alcantara steering wheel, front and rear fog lights, and full gauges including oil pressure, oil temperature, voltage, fuel, coolant temp, tach and speedometer. The stereo has been upgraded to a new Kenwood unit featuring apple car play and android auto, as well as a subwoofer hidden in the passenger floor compartment. Being an automated manual transmission, the car essentially controls the clutch for you and still requires shifting via the steering column mounted paddle shifters, or there is an “automatic” shifting mode if needed.  Driving this car, you quickly discover the incredible over-run and pops and burbles the engine and exhaust make when down shifting and it’s absolutely intoxicating. The automatic mode get’s forgotten quickly as shifting the car with the paddles is such a rewarding auditory experience. The power top is fascinating to watch, as the rear engine compartment slides and tilts back before the top is extended out of its hiding spot just behind the seats atop the V-10. All owners’ manuals, and information still come with the car tucked into the Lamborghini folder that stows in the glove box. There’s certainly no space for a set of golf clubs, but if a couple was to pack smart, there’s just enough storage in the frunk to fit a couple of duffle bags. The factory took kit is still under the hood as well. Not much to see when you open the engine compartment as the storage space for the convertible top covers most of the engine. For most of us, just seeing a real Lamborghini in person is a bucket list experience, let alone owning one. Come by to check it out, or maybe take it home?
