1965 Rambler
1965 Rambler 440 American 2-door Hardtop. What a sweet little car! Only 3 owners in its entire lifetime. One repaint in the 80's, with the exception of the black hood/roof/trunk and the wide body all metal fenders which were recently completed! It left the factory a little old lady car with a straight 6 but now sports a 360 AMC V8 bored to a 365 with 10.5:1 compression. It's backed by a 904 transmission with shift kit, AMC javelin diff with 3:54 gears and limited slip. No power steering or power brakes, but they're not needed in a car that’s as small and light as this one. Brand new exhaust just fitted along with the tires and wheels which fill the wheel wells perfectly! The stance couldn't get any better. The front lower air dam, rear spoiler and black touches really give this thing a European sports car flavour. Modern shifter and aftermarket tach add, but the interior is largely original including the very unique one-piece headliner. Some very minimal wear on the driver's seat, and one crack on the dash, but the rest is great! Carpets are new as well. Extra vital gauges hang from the dash. Trunk is finished well. This thing really moves too! That substantial V8 is a lot of power for such a nominal car. Sounds good and looks great zipping around everyone in traffic. Lots of fun to be had! Car shows 26,000 miles, but with the engine swap, true milage is unknown.
