1966 C-10 Low Rider
1966 Chevrolet C-10 Regular Cab, Short Box, Low Rider. This is one of the most spectacular builds we've ever had in the showroom, and it comes from a builder right here in Saskatchewan. Worthy of an article, if not the cover of Hot Rod Magazine. Riding on a Choppin Block extreme air ride chassis and featuring a low km 2003 5.3-liter LS backed by a 4L60E transmission with external cooler. There are all new plugs, wires, manifolds, gaskets, water pump and radiator in the build. So far, there's 1200 kms on the rig since the build. Here's some of the details of the chassis:
New 2 piece driveshaft. Built rear differential with Eaton posi and 3:73 gears. CPP Disk brakes all around. Power rack and pinion steering. Front and rear sway bars. Dual exhaust. 20 Gallon fuel tank with all new lines and Aeromotive stealth 340 fuel pump. Holley Fuel regulator. 15" steel wheels with dog dish caps and 235/75/15 white wall tires. New wheel bearings. Front and rear CPP drop spindles. The Airride system is the Accuair endo VT. There are Dual 485cc compressors and an Accuair Elevel + ecu and controller with height sensors. The system runs 3/8 lines and is already programmed to 3 heights. Fully aired up, cruising height, and lay frame.
The Body is a GMC converted to Chevrolet with Hart Fab inner front fenders, widened stock rear tubs. It's a long bed shortened into a short bed. You'll find Switch Suspension cowl mounted hood hinges and a power lifting bed floor out back. All LED headlights, with sequential LED taillights. There's lots of new sheet metal, but you wouldn’t know it, as the old patina and new paint flow seamlessly. The look is sensational.
On the interior you’ll find new gold carpets and floor mats. A Chevy Dash has been installed with Dakota digital RTX gauges that include air pressure readings on the digital screen. There's a Kenwood Excelon media receiver paired up to Focal 6.5" component speakers in fiberglass kick panels. Powering it all is a 5-channel amp under the seat. The seat is an OBS generation bench seat in mint condition. There's an American Reto 58 Chevy 15" steering wheel on an aftermarket tilt column and billet shift handle. All new wiring and fuse panel. Vintage air supplied the heater system. You'll also find power windows, a new windshield, new tinted glass and all new weather stripping and felts.
Bottom line, if you're looking for a low rider out of the 60's, you won't find a better built one anywhere! Worth a close look at!
