TRIM/OPTIONS: W72 high performance option code, Soft Ray glass, Rare Hurst Edition removable glass panels (with storage bags), electric rear defrost, Factory A/C (working), Tilt steering wheel, Illuminated visor mirror, AM/FM stereo radio (working), Factory dash mount Stereo 8-track player(working), Rare 3 colored Firebird hood decal.
BODY STYLE: 2-door coupe.
ENGINE: Numbers matching W72 6.6 liter (400 c.i.) V8 featuring 220 hp (20 more than regular Trans Am), 350 heads on the 400 engine for higher compression, high lift cam, high volume oil pump, factory retuned quadrajet for high output, chromed valve covers and a higher redline. Factory air induction works properly. Engine was removed, resealed, compression and oil pressure tested. Quadrajet rebuilt. New Plugs, wires, cap rotor, heater hoses, clamps, thermostat, fan clutch, fuel pump, water pump and heater core. New OEM radiator.
TRANSMISSION: Numbers matching 4-speed close ratio manual – part of the W72 package. Rebuilt at All-o-Matic in saskatoon with machined Flywheel, new clutch and pilot bearing.
DIFFERENTIAL: 3:23 Posi-traction rear end – part of the W72 Package. Serviced with new posi-traction oil.
EXHAUST: True dual high flow – 2.5 inch stainless steel – New.
SUSPENSION: New performance Munroe shocks all around. New Front and rear sway bar bushings and links. Stock otherwise.
BRAKES: Front Discs, Rear drums. All recently serviced and replaced as needed.
WHEELS: Factory Snowflake with gold pockets – perfect condition
TIRES: 255/60/15 – BF Goodrich Radial T/A
PAINT/BODY: All Panels factory original with no rust repair or modifications Factory Original Buccaneer Red – recently with an extensive polish by Auto Recon. Unrestored original rare 3 color Firebird hood decal package. New hood insulation, seal on shaker.
INTERIOR: Completely stock and restored where needed with new bottom door cards. Factory tach, AM/FM Radio and 8-track player all working. Full gage package. All interior was removed, detailed, carpets shampooed and reinstalled. Propper GM floor mats included. Absolutely flawless interior.
ACCESSORIES: Car comes with car show stand, car cover, factory floor mats, proper trunk mat and extensive collection of all original documentation including bill of sale, owners’ manuals, window sicker, Pontiac historic services report and build sheet. Trunk also holds unused space saver spare, correct jack and tire iron and even hard to find unused tire inflator can. Correct Hurst Glass T-top cases also included.
HISTORY: Sold New May 20th 1977 at Jones Pontiac-Cadillac in Goldsboro North Carolina. Registered in NC till 2001 then imported to Canada. 3 owner car, each of which cared for the car immensely. Most T/A’s have had a hard life… not this one. NC means dry and rust free. All documentation included, even hand written service records going right back to the first oil change.
