1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Pro Touring. To start with, yes, this is a real Mach 1 wearing the correct Calypso Coral paint with a Marti Report to prove its pedigree! Sold new at Oakley Motors on Union Avenue in Memphis Tennessee, March 4^th, 1970, this car left the factory with the same 351-4V Cleveland V8, Vermillion Knit vinyl Mach 1 bucket seats, a 3.25 conventional rear axle, FMX select shift automatic, Black hood stripe, Belted raised white letter tires, power steering and an AM radio. Since then, it’s received a full rotisserie restoration and has 1500 miles on the digital odometer since it was completed. That restoration process involved the addition of a lot of performance parts that take this Mach 1 from good to GREAT. FiTech fuel-injection, along with MSD ignition, ceramic coated full-length headers have all been added to the rebuilt 351. It’s now backed by a Hydraulic clutched Tremec TKO 5-speed manual in place of the original automatic. Behind that is a 9-inch Ford rear end with Strange 31-spline axles and 3:50 traction-lok gears. On all 4 corners you’ll find Ridetech adjustable coil-overs with 4-link suspension out back, upgraded sway bars, subframe connectors and tubular control arms up front. There’s an upgraded Borgeson Power steering box and Unisteer pump. Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes and power master cylinder provide the stopping power. Other upgrades include the correct Ford Shaker hood, lower chin spoiler and window Louvers and rear wing out back. The Calypso Coral paint is flawless and has a mirror finish with no orange peel. All chrome and stainless trim is either brand new or restored to perfection. The 18x9 and 18x10 Bogart racing wheels with Toyo Proxes T1 tires match the lower “Mach 1” body trim very well. On the inside, there’ lots of cool touches. The all black interior has bucket seats out of a new generation Ford with custom covers and stitching with the back seat matching perfectly. The rear seat also folds down and the pass through to the trunk still functions. Most of the interior is new including door panels, carpets, headliner, Dash pad and so on. Power windows and power mirrors have been tastefully added. There’s upgraded 3-point seat bets, a new Pioneer CD/Stereo unit with USB. Some of the biggest upgrades include Vintage Air A/C and the Dakota Digital VHX gauges with VLC dash clock that all glow in red. Currently we’re working on a different pulley under the hood to put the A/C belt on. The correct shifter is also on the way for the car. This one is the real deal with a killer look, perfect stance, and drives like one hell of a car. The suspension upgrades have the car cornering like it’s on rails. It’s everything a Mach 1 should be and even more!
